Background of the Study
Rural development is essential for sustainable growth and poverty alleviation, especially in areas like Dekina Local Government Area (LGA) of Kogi State. Governmental accounting plays a critical role in ensuring financial accountability and the effective allocation of resources toward rural development projects. Proper accounting mechanisms ensure transparency in fund management and prevent resource misappropriation. However, challenges such as lack of transparency, corruption, and ineffective monitoring systems have impeded rural development in Dekina LGA.
